One trip, three worlds

The trip as we created it. The day-by-day, the lodging and the kit list are on the trip page.

Iran'duro

Two days on the slopes of Damavand and a descent of more than 2,000 m; the shepherds' trails of the Alborz down to the Caspian plains; then the desert and the bazaars. From Asia's highest volcano to sea level. · From 2'590 CHF

The playground

From the Alborz to the Caspian Sea

A mountain country few riders imagine: volcanoes, humid forests on the sea side, dry slopes on the south side, deserts. And people who invite you in before asking your name.

Damavand and the Alborz

The range that separates Tehran from the sea: 3,000 m passes, volcanic slopes, shepherds' huts and hot springs. The sporting heart of the trip.

The Caspian shores

The northern side, green and humid, dropping to the sea: forests, rice fields, wooden villages, and a total contrast with the south.

The desert and the cities

Sand and salt tracks, caravanserais, bazaars and Persian cooking: the last two days, to come home with the whole country in your eyes.

These are the areas we ride. The trails themselves are discovered on the day.

Exclusively, since 2014

The trip nobody else offers

Exoride opened the first enduro trip in Iran in 2014, after weeks of scouting and meeting local partners who became friends. Red Bull TV, Pinkbike and Big Bike came to see: their reports are in our press review.

This trip has never been a line in a catalogue. That is why we do not sell it while we cannot guarantee it, and why we will run it again as soon as we can.

  • The only mountain bike trip in Iran organised from Switzerland
  • Loyal local partners, a French-speaking guide, 4x4 shuttles
  • Covered by Red Bull TV in 2019, Pinkbike in 2018, Big Bike in 2015
  • Departures suspended since March 2026: we follow the situation closely

The exclusive trip, from 5,600 m to sea level

From the summit of Asia's highest volcano down to sea level, in ten days.

When to come

What the season would be

1

Damavand · two hard days

Sub-zero temperatures possible on the volcano, cold-weather kit essential. The two high stages allow you to step back at any moment.

2

The Alborz and the Caspian · temperate

A spell of rain is possible on the sea side depending on the currents; elsewhere, dry and warm.

3

The desert · hot and dry

The final days, hard light and wide open space: glasses, sun cream and plenty of water.

Thank you Christian for your good humour, your humility and above all for the knowledge of your region! Even in Breton weather you found us beautiful, beautiful lines. And thanks too to the driver, discreet but just as friendly, and who takes good care of our bikes!

Upper Valais outing, perfect weather, pure pleasure. Thanks to Chris and his organisation, everything was superb!

The very best! Insane singletracks, 6,400 m of descent, in a superb atmosphere among riders! Just like Finale, but on Valais soil. Can't wait for the next outing with Chris and Exoride!

Frequently asked questions about Iran

Why are departures suspended?

Because the security situation on the ground no longer allows us to consider going. Everyone already booked has been contacted individually. We will publish an update as soon as the situation allows us to consider going back.

Can I book for later?

Not for now: we would rather promise nothing we cannot keep. Subscribe to the newsletter: that is where a restart will be announced first.

How did people get to Iran?

A flight to Tehran, at your own cost; we advised on times so the group arrived together. Everything else was included: transfers, 4x4 shuttles, lodging, luggage.

And the visa?

It had to be applied for in advance, allowing at least fifteen days, before booking the flight. We sent the procedure step by step and supported the application.

What level was needed?

3.5/4 technical and physical: long days, altitude, committing descents. It is, with Georgia, our most demanding trip.

What kit should I bring?

A serviced enduro bike and cold-weather kit for Damavand. E-Bikes are not possible in Iran: batteries do not travel by air and there is no rental on the spot.

Where did we sleep, what did we eat?

The day-by-day, the lodging, the meals included and the kit are detailed on the trip page. In short: hotels in Tehran and on the coast, mountain huts and family homes in the mountains.

And another destination meanwhile?

Georgia is the closest in spirit: the same demand, the same change of world, horses instead of shuttles. Morocco, for its part, runs all winter.

Shall we?

We will go back

In the meantime there is the Caucasus, the Atlas and the Alps. Subscribe to the newsletter: the restart will be announced there first.
