From the High Atlas to the edge of the desert
In winter Morocco offers what the Alps offer in summer: long descents, dry ground, passes above 3,000 m and villages where you stop. Three regions, three moods.
Central High Atlas
The great Berber valleys south of Marrakech: passes reached by shuttle, descents of more than 1,500 m down to the villages, guesthouses with local families. October to March.
M'goun
Morocco's second summit, at 4,000 m: two days climbing on foot and by bike, a descent that never ends, and gorges on the way back. Mid-May to mid-September.
Ouarzazate and Zagora
The south, between kasbahs, palm groves and the first dunes: rolling, bright terrain, perfect for E-Bikes and levels 1.5 to 2.5. October to March.
These are the areas we ride. The trails themselves are discovered on the day.
What happens between the trails
This is where it all started: a trip in the Atlas, in the late 2000s, the Berber welcome, the simplicity and the humanity woven into the trails.
Since 2011, more than fifty groups have ridden with the same local team: drivers, cooks, hosts, friends. Nights are spent in village guesthouses, meals are the family's own, tea is taken on the roof.
- A local team loyal since 2011, paid a fair price
- Nights in Berber guesthouses, tagine and bread baked on the fire
- 4x4 shuttles to the passes, spare bike and mechanical support
- E-Bikes rented from us on the spot, or your battery carried by road with our bus, subject to dates and space
A change of scene, and prime riding all winter
Two and a half hours of flying, three hours of road, and another world at the end of the track.
Two seasons, three programmes
Early October to end March · Endu'Rock and Zagoride
The winter season of the Atlas and the south: dry ground, low light, ideal temperatures by day and cool nights at altitude.
Mid-May to mid-September · M'goun
The only window for the 4,000 m summit: clear passes, long days, nights at altitude possible. Available privately across the whole period.
April and May · in between
We put the Morocco bags away and open the Valais season: no open departure, but a private trip remains possible on request.
What they say about Morocco
Morocco enduro, absolutely top. Flawless organisation, trails as hot as they should be, long long long descents in a magnificent setting, and for the food lovers, excellent meals. It doesn't feel like an organised trip, more like heading out on lines you would have picked with your own mates, with the shuttle on top. Well done Christian!
A great experience in Morocco. Chris is a very good guide and knows these beautiful areas perfectly.
We were in Morocco with Chris. It was a super great week, top organised with mega beautiful trails and also great experiences with the local population. We would book a trip again immediately.
Frequently asked questions about Morocco
How do I get to Morocco?
A flight to Marrakech, at your own cost; we advise on times so the group arrives together. Airport transfers, shuttles and luggage transport are included.
Is Morocco safe?
Yes. The regions we ride present no particular risk, and we have been going since 2011 with the same local team.
What level do I need?
Endu'Rock the Casbah asks for 3/4 technical and 2/4 physical; Zagoride takes riders from 1.5/4; M'goun asks for 3/4 and good fitness for the climb. If in doubt, write to us.
Can I ride an E-Bike?
Yes, on all three programmes, and it is simpler here than anywhere else: we rent E-Bikes directly on the spot in Morocco. And since we drive down with our own bus, we can also carry your battery or your E-Bike by road, subject to dates and space. Ask us before booking.
Which bike should I bring?
A serviced enduro or all-mountain bike, reinforced tubeless tyres, new pads, a spare derailleur hanger. Mountain bikes and E-Bikes available from us on the spot.
Where do we sleep, what do we eat?
The day-by-day, the lodging, the meals included and the kit are detailed on each trip page. In short: village guesthouses in the Atlas, hotels in Marrakech and in the south.
What insurance do I need?
Mountain biking accident cover, third-party liability, rescue and helicopter evacuation valid in Morocco, plus cancellation and repatriation. REGA membership is a good complement.
How is a trip paid for?
A 30 % deposit at booking, the balance before departure. The flight is yours to book and is never included in the price shown.
Can it be booked privately?
Yes, from four people: Endu'Rock and Zagoride from early October to the end of March, M'goun from mid-May to mid-September.

The levels, made clear

First tracks
Wide paths, rolling doubletrack, the odd loose rock. MTB without traps, to build pleasure and confidence.
- comfortable on gravel and forest roads
- the word singletrack intrigues you more than it speaks to you
- you are discovering braking on loose ground

Singletrack bliss
Narrow but flowing trails: moderate roots and rocks, wide switchbacks, a few spots where you pick your line.
- you ride singletrack regularly and enjoy it
- tight switchbacks still make you dab a foot sometimes
- you brake hard without locking up in the rocks

Technical ground
Rock gardens, steps, tight switchbacks, off-camber: the terrain demands clean lines and active riding.
- tight switchbacks without dabbing, almost
- 30-40 cm steps do not stop you
- you read the trail several metres ahead

Committed
High mountain, exposed sections, big steps: places where mistakes cost, precise riding is mandatory.
- you ride what many carry
- exposure does not cloud your judgement
- you stay in control on the steep even when tired
Easy
Short outing, minimal climbing: shuttles or lifts do the work, frequent breaks.
- 2-3 h out
- under 300 m of climbing
- no training required
On an e-bike, one physical grade lower is often enough: ask us.
Active
Half to full mellow day: we pedal, but the pace leaves time for the view.
- 3-5 h out
- 300-700 m of climbing
- occasional exercise is enough
On an e-bike, one physical grade lower is often enough: ask us.
Sporty
A proper MTB day: hours in the saddle, real climbing, punchy sections. You need juice, not a palmares.
- full day, 5-7 h including breaks
- 800-1'200 m of climbing
- regular sport, endurance follows
On an e-bike, one physical grade lower is often enough: ask us.
Enduring
Big days or back-to-backs: climbing stacks up and the pace stays high.
- 1'500 m+ of climbing, or several days in a row
- regular training
- fast recovery is part of the game
On an e-bike, one physical grade lower is often enough: ask us.
Between two grades? Halves (2.5) exist: aim higher if you are fit, lower if you are coming back.
Not sure? Write to usWe will advise you honestly, even if it means suggesting mellower.See the full page
