Day 1 | Welcome to the Valais, make yourself at home
Guesthouse
You drop your bags at our guesthouse, your base camp for the week: a warm Valais building, a workshop to fine-tune your bike, and a terrace with a direct view of the Mont Blanc massif, the roof of Europe turning golden at sunset. Here you're not a passing customer: you live the week like a local, with people who ride.
Welcome drink on the terrace to meet the rest of the crew and your guide, who is also your host: a local guide, born in these valleys, who knows every trail in the canton and will tell you why the Valaisans have been carving bisses into the rock since the Middle Ages, how the sun-blackened wooden villages have stood for centuries, or what the cow fights really are. Then the table d'hôtes: dried meat and alpine cheese, local platter and regional wine, a relaxed briefing for the week, tomorrow's weather and the first spot on the programme.
You set up your suspension in the workshop if needed, check your brake pads, and fall asleep facing the peaks: tomorrow starts strong.
-
Day 2 | Upper Valais shuttles, 5'000 m of descent to get going
40 km
150 m
5'500 m
Guesthouse
We load the bikes into the Exo'bus and head for the Upper Valais for a shuttle day just as we like them: the van goes up, you go down, and we start again. Around Moosalp and Jeizinen, the trails wind at altitude between alpine pastures and larch forests, on ground that invites you to link corners without ever breaking the rhythm.
Towards Leuk, the drier climate and the light of the Upper Valais give the trails a more mineral feel, with the Imperial Crown, Weisshorn, Dom and Matterhorn, lined up on the horizon; around Stalden and Turtmann, the terrain turns wilder, away from the main valleys, for rawer, more committed descents. Trails you'd never find on your own, and a guide who explains along the way why French is spoken at his home and German forty kilometres further up the same valley, in the same canton: that's the advantage of riding with a local.
Over 5'000 m of descent on the counter by the end of the day, back to the guesthouse, bike on the workshop stand, beer on the terrace facing Mont Blanc and dinner with the crew, with the day's stories and those of the valley.
-
Day 3 | Plaine Morte tour, from the glacier to the forest singletrack
40 km
400 m
2'600 m
Guesthouse
Change of rhythm: today is a tour day, point to point with your pack on your back. From Crans-Montana, several cable cars take you to nearly 3'000 m, at the edge of the Plaine Morte glacier, in a lunar setting of scree and snowfields, with the Valais 4'000-metre peaks lined up on the other side of the valley.
The descent is the Valais in a nutshell: ridges and mineral landscapes, a turquoise mountain lake, a dizzying bisse you follow along the balcony, those irrigation channels cut into the cliff that farmers have maintained for six centuries to bring glacier water down to the vineyards, then the forest and its fast singletracks all the way to the plain. A varied all-mountain route, to be savoured without rushing, picnic break facing the panorama included.
Back to the guesthouse by Exo'bus, active recovery on the terrace: tomorrow, the big descents are back.
-
Day 4 | Central Valais shuttles, four valleys, five rotations
40 km
150 m
5'000 m
Guesthouse
Back to the shuttles, in the heart of the central Valais and its four regions with strongly marked characters. In the Val d'Hérens, the trails link tight corners and short pedal sections through the forests around Thyon, on ground that demands precision without ever breaking the rhythm, with the Grande Dixence dam, the highest gravity dam in the world, as a backdrop, and the sun-blackened mazot villages where the local patois is still spoken.
In Anniviers, the terrain opens up and the trails gain speed: wide lines, solid berms and views running out to the surrounding summits. On the Crans-Montana side, the tracks alternate jumps, banked corners and fast forest sections; at Conthey, the drier ground gives way to flowing trails. You can race the front of the group or cruise at the back: everyone at their own pace.
At least five rotations and over 5'000 m of descent on the counter, lunch break at an alpine hut, and a quiet evening at the house: Valais raclette, as it should be, and the story of this cheese that has been scraped since the 16th century.
-
Day 5 | Aletsch glacier, the day everyone still talks about
40 km
500 m
4'750 m
Guesthouse
Early start towards the east of the canton and the Aletsch Arena, in the heart of the Jungfrau-Aletsch Unesco site. The lifts of Mörel, Betten and Fiesch take you to the viewpoints of the Moosfluh, the Bettmerhorn and the Eggishorn, from where the Aletsch glacier, 23 km of ice, the longest in the Alps, unfolds before your eyes.
The day is a succession of rotations with the cable cars: panoramic alpine singletracks, long and varied descents towards the car-free villages of Riederalp and Bettmeralp, then down to the valley floor, and up we go again. 4'750 m of descent for barely 500 m of climbing, with the glacier as an almost permanent backdrop.
It's one of those days everyone still talks about years later, it's that exceptional: few places in the world let you ride an alpine singletrack with 23 km of ice below. Late return to the guesthouse, a well-earned dinner and the day's stories on the terrace.
-
Day 6 | Lower Valais shuttles, your guide's backyard
35 km
150 m
5'500 m
Guesthouse
Today your guide takes you to his backyard: the Lower Valais, between Bagnes, Orsières, Fully, the Col du Lein and the Col des Planches, the whole playground of the region packed into a single shuttle day. Trails cut out for riders who want big descents and singletracks with bite.
A real festival of trails, each one flowier than the last, in the larch forests above the Rhône valley, between terraced vineyards and forgotten passes, with more technical passages for those who want them and always the option of riding at the group's pace. Your guide knows every corner: this is where he learned to ride, and along the way he shows you the trails the maps don't mention. He and the shuttle driver only release you once the 5'000 m of descent mark is passed: no fewer than five rotations.
Evening at the guesthouse, a stone's throw from the day's spots: Mont Blanc view, table d'hôtes and the day's debrief, heavy legs and a wide smile.
-
Day 7 | Verbier, bike park and enduro on the pros' home turf
30 km
300 m
4'000 m
Guesthouse
Whether for its finely shaped bike park tracks or its many enduro lines, you quickly understand why Verbier has established itself as one of the best MTB spots in the Alps, from the Verbier E-Bike Festival to Enduro World Series rounds.
After a proper warm-up on the bike park tracks, your guide shows you the wildest trails and the best descending options in the area, lifts included: natural lines, rock gardens and forest singletracks down to Le Châble, with the Combins as a backdrop.
Last evening at the guesthouse: drinks on the terrace facing Mont Blanc, farewell dinner and the week's photos.
-
Day 8 | Goodbye Valais, see you next time
Guesthouse
One last breakfast on the terrace, facing the Mont Blanc massif, legs heavy from six days of trails and a head full of images. No riding today: we take the time to pack the bags, clean the bikes in the workshop and go over the week around a coffee.
Contacts and photos are shared, your guide gives his last tips for what comes next and one final Valais story, then you leave at your own pace during the morning, bags full of memories and your mind already on the next time.
Ready to live a week of mountain biking in the Valais like a local? Small group, limited places: book yours and come ride the finest trails of the Valais with the crew.

Required level
This trip is for advanced riders, at ease on technical alpine trails and able to link five riding days with big descents: technique 3/4, fitness 2.5/4. The lifts and the shuttle spare the legs, but the descents are long and demand concentration; on shuttle days, everyone can ride at the front or cruise in the second half of the group.
If in doubt about your level, write to us before signing up: we'll point you in the right direction in two minutes.
Culture
The Valais is a bilingual canton where French turns into German as you go up the Rhône valley, a land of bisses cut into the rock since the Middle Ages to bring glacier water down to the vineyards, of sun-blackened wooden villages, raclette and dried meat, cow fights in spring and the highest gravity dam in the world. Your guide, who is also your host, was born here: he tells you all about it along the way.
Good to know: you pay in Swiss francs (cards accepted almost everywhere), fountain water is drinkable, and a « grüezi » or a « bonjour », depending on the valley, opens every door.
Lodging & food
Seven nights at our guesthouse, your base camp for the week: comfortable rooms, a repair workshop for the bikes, a terrace with a direct view of the Mont Blanc massif and the feel of a home rather than a hotel.
A generous breakfast before each day and a table d'hôtes in the evening, with local produce: dried meat, alpine cheeses, raclette, Valais wines. At midday, a picnic on the trail or a stop at an alpine hut depending on the day.
Climate
The Valais is one of the driest and sunniest cantons in Switzerland, which makes it an ideal playground in summer and autumn. We move between 500 and nearly 3'000 m, though: it can be hot on the valley floor and cool at altitude, so bring a windbreaker and a warm layer. In bad weather the programme adapts, and the spots are chosen the day before according to the forecast.
Safety
Small group, a local professional Swiss Cycling certified guide who rides these trails all year round, a private shuttle for the transfers, workshop and mechanical support, mandatory protection. The pace adapts to the group, and nobody is pushed to do what they don't feel.
Ready to ride?
Convinced? If you're sure of your level and your gear matches the programme, hit the registration button and book your spot: small group, limited places, and they go fast.
No date suits you, or you'd rather come as a formed group, with friends or a club? We also run this trip privately, on the date that suits you: request your private trip.
A doubt, a question? Write to us, we answer quickly.
-
How many riders per group?
A small group: enough for the atmosphere, few enough to ride together, keep a real rhythm and enjoy the guesthouse like friends.
-
Is this trip open to e-bikes?
Yes, regular MTBs and e-bikes mix without any problem on this trip: the shuttle days and the lifts put everyone on an equal footing. Bring a charged battery and your charger, the guesthouse workshop is well equipped.
-
Who is our guide?
A local professional MTB guide, Swiss Cycling certified, born in these valleys and riding here all year round. He is also your host for the week: he picks the spots the day before according to the weather.
-
What's the typical participant profile?
Riders aged 20 to 65, men and women, Swiss and international, with very varied profiles. What matters: the required level (3/4 technique, 2.5/4 fitness) and the desire to share a week of trails in a relaxed atmosphere.
-
What kind of riding should I expect?
Five very different days: three shuttle days with at least five rotations and up to 5'500 m of descent, a tour day at the Plaine Morte glacier and a day at the Aletsch glacier with the lifts. Routes made up of 99 % trails, from panoramic balconies to forest singletracks.
-
Do I ride all day with all my gear?
On shuttle days, you can leave the non-essentials in the van and ride with the minimum, protection included. On tour days, you keep your pack: back protector, windbreaker, repair kit, packed lunch and something to drink.
-
Where do we sleep and what do we eat?
Seven nights at our guesthouse, with a repair workshop for the bikes and a terrace facing the Mont Blanc massif. A generous breakfast and a table d'hôtes in the evening with Valais produce; at midday, a picnic on the trail or a stop at an alpine hut depending on the day.
-
Can I do laundry during the trip?
Yes, the guesthouse provides a washing machine during the week: no need to pack one bike outfit per day.
-
Can I rent a bike on site?
Yes, MTB or e-bike rental and protection are offered as options in the registration form. Give us your size, we take care of the rest.
-
What gear do I need?
A full-suspension MTB or e-bike with 150 to 180 mm of travel, fully serviced, with new brake pads and reinforced-casing tyres: the full list is under « Your bike » and « Your gear ».
-
What if I get tired?
The pace adapts to the group, and you can skip a rotation to rest in the van on shuttle days. A full rest day at the guesthouse is always possible: terrace, Mont Blanc view and a nap.
-
What happens in bad weather?
The Valais is one of the driest cantons in Switzerland, and the spots are chosen the day before according to the forecast: with three regions available, there is almost always a dry valley. If a day is really unrideable, the programme is adapted.
-
How do I get to the Valais?
By train to Martigny (two hours from Geneva, with a connection from the airport), or by car via the Rhône motorway; the transfer from the station to the guesthouse is arranged with us. Practical details are sent after registration.
-
What insurance should I plan?
No insurance is required, but we strongly recommend health and accident cover valid in Switzerland, as well as cancellation insurance. Note: some insurers apply special clauses or even exclusions for bike-park and lift-served riding; check this point with your insurer before signing up.

Paul Liogier
Enduro Maroc is top-notch, with impeccable organization, trails that are as challenging as they should be, and long, long, long descents in a magnificent setting. And for the foodies, the food is amazing.
It doesn't feel like an organized tour, but more like you're on the trails you would have chosen with your group of friends, with the shuttle as a bonus. Bravo, Christian!
-

Dami DLP

We had a truly awesome week in Morocco with Chris. A big thank you for the top-notch organization and the superb trails. An excellent mix of biking and discovering the local culture over a delicious tajine or Moroccan tea.
This will surely not be our last bike trip with Chris. -

Moshik Zur
We just came back from a wonderful mountain biking experience with Chris. We stayed at his guesthouse, which has an incredible view of the Alps.
We started in Verbier with a day of coaching that brought us all to a new level of riding, thanks to Chris's insightful feedback.
The next day, we did shuttles in Valais and had a lot of fun.
Chris's enthusiasm for mountain biking is contagious.
As a coach, he understands your limits and helps you progress, while making you feel safe.
As a host, he provides a very attentive service to make your stay comfortable.
You won't find a better mountain biking experience than this! -

Great team, great bus, and great atmosphere. Chris knows all the best trails in Valais and is super professional (there's even a spare bike in the shuttle...). I've taken shuttles in many countries, and this Swiss experience is really a bargain for this quality of service.
Don't think twice: sign up for their next sessions.

Vincent Héritier
Chris and his team are top-notch, Chris knows Valais and its trails like the back of his hand, he is friendly and a good teacher when needed.
He's a top rider and takes great photos too. Sore eyes because the mountains are so beautiful, and sore arms too, because the trails are so tempting.
In short, pure happiness!
See you soon Chris, for sure ;) -

Daniel Fehl
I spent a week with Christian exploring the Valais region between Orsières and Zermatt.
It was an incredible experience: the mountain biking challenges, the mountain views, the mountain huts for lunch, and the homemade dinners.
Each day, we took a shuttle to a new location and used the lifts as much as possible, then the e-MTB for additional climbs.
He adapted the descents/traverses according to my abilities and desires. He knows the local trails, huts, and access points very well.
I end this week with gratitude, a sense of wonder at the Alps, and the desire to return for more adventures. -

Cédric Monnet
Awesome day!!! Whether you're a beginner or comfortable on the MTB trail, Chris guides you with great technical advice, patience and happiness..!!!
A great new feature at EXORIDE: e-MTB courses, with tips on how to handle these latest-generation machines and use them to their full potential on the terrain, downhill and.... uphill..!!!
Have fun with EXORIDE !!!
